POWERED BY RENEWABLE ENERGY
As part of our goal to help combat climate change and contribute to a healthier environment, we are proud to announce our facility is completely powered by clean, renewable energy. Through the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), we have agreed to receive 100 percent of our electricity from wind, solar, bio-gas, and other renewable technologies (at an additional charge to us).
Additionally, we have taken further measures to reduce our power grid load and toll on the environment. Some of these measures include: LED lighting, smart timers, high efficiency appliances/electronics, and an independent solar powered outdoor lighting & security system.
ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS DESIGN
From concept to construction, this ambulance was designed with the environment in mind. Whenever possible, materials and suppliers were selected to reflect this goal.
Our vehicles feature reclaimed wood which is used for the luxury interior. This diseased Oak is not only beautiful, but is finished with a lower VOC Microban paint for superior sanitation. Additionally, the premium laminate contains 12% post-consumer recycled wood fiber, and flooring has a low VOC formula. Both of these items are Greenguard certified, with the laminate being Greenguard Gold, representing it's superior reduction of chemical pollutants.

SUSTAINABLE OPERATING PRACTICES
Running an environmentally friendly business requires sustainability to be rooted from the bottom up. That is why we implemented an Employee Sustainability Program:

Employees who receive 75% or more of their power from LADWP's Green Power Program will be reimbursed.

Employees receive additional driver training for operating vehicles more fuel efficiently.

Basic sustainability and recycling practices are reviewed.
Our office makes a sustained effort to be paperless where possible, although if needed, we will use recycled paper which we most certainly will recycle when finished with.
When possible we utilize environmentally friendly cleaners, soaps, and detergents at our facility. Do not worry, we steer clear away from using "greenwashed" products.
THE NATURE CONSERVANCY
A portion of our purchases of medical supplies are donated to The Nature Conservancy, which earned an A- rating from Charity Watch.

THE FUTURE: ELECTRIC AMBULANCES
The ultimate goal we set to achieve is to create a 300% sustainable ambulance service. By 300%, we mean:

Purchase Carbon Offsets & Renewable Energy Credits to effectively make the vehicle production 100% clean
I honestly believe that although optimistic, in the coming years this will be a reality for LuxCare Ambulance Service.
